Troop History

The girls troop started with 5 people. The first few years it was trying to get to know each other and the first campout we went out on was at the canoe run but we were unable to do the canoe run due to lack of numbers. We did many campouts with our scout master and learned that chocolate pancakes with hot chocolate are very good. Our first court of honor was on February, 13, 2023. We had assistant scout masters that were a big part of our troop and helped us on our welding and metal working merit badges and big helps on campouts. August 7th, 2023 was our first official election and our first Scout camp was in the same year in the first week of June. We did the Santa drive through on December 18th and wrote around America and a girl joined the troop in 2023. We did bucket welding for Midnight at The Oasis. The fallen officer memorial is something the troop participates in every year.

Eagle Scout Projects

The first female eagle scout ever in Yuma is named Sophie. With the help of volunteers, Sophia cut and tied 185 fleece blankets for KIDS Cuddlekit Closet, Amberly's Place, and the Arizona Department of Child Safety, which oversees Arizona's foster care program. 

Our second eagle scout in Yuma is named Erin. Her project was called Stop the Chaos, which involved revitalizing a shared storage space at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church. 

Our third female eagle in Yuma is named Kayleigh. Her project was repainting the front parking lot at Palmcroft Elementary school with the help of many volunteers to help make the parking lot safer for families and staff as well as planting a tree to replace a tree that had long been removed from illness
